(apologies to The Beatles!)
Left-Handedness Is Natural and Normal - Let It Be!
The handedness of a person is determined by their genetic make-up, not the environment or learned behaviour.
Always allow the child to explore their handeness for different tasks. Remember, some people have mixed dominance so they do different tasks with a different hand preference.
When handing an item to a child, place it in the centre so they can choose which hand to use.
If a child is struggling with a new task when using one hand, suggest trying the other hand to see if it helps - but don't force the issue!
Above all, don't force a child to be what they are not.
Let It Be!
